VFD ( Variable Frequency Drive) Panel

 VFD :

 It aslo known as VFD Variable control panel.


- Are designed to control the speed of electric motor and feed pump. They are widely used in drilling, pumping and other large machine application. The VFD panel are widely used in extruder planets, rolling mills, tube mills, paper mills, cable industry and CTL lines.


 To control the speed of the motor we use VFD.

   Formula = N = 120 × F / P


           Speed is directly proportional to frequency and inversely proportional to poles.

       N = speed

       F  = Frequency

       P  = Pole


Types of Devices

1) AC

2) DC


  Feature of drives :-

1) Forward/ Reverse of motor running

2) JOG ( control speed)

3) DC breaking

4) Ramp up/down ( Acceleration and De-acceleration).


Motor rating is equal to VFD rating

VFD rating is equal to motor rating


Power will be same when frequency is decrease.
